On 25 September 2015, world leaders adopted the Sustainable Development Goals: 17 goals that define a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure peace and prosperity for all by 2030.
September 25, World Day of Action for Sustainable Development Goals, will mark this year the 4th anniversary of the adoption of Agenda 2030. Governments, institutions, public and private organizations and citizens are invited to join the mobilization in support of the MDGs.
For the first time since the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015, a United Nations Summit will be dedicated to them. On 24 and 25 September, the Heads of State and Government will review the progress made in implementing Agenda 2030 and achieving the MDGs. France will present its roadmap to which the Global Compact France has contributed by participating in the co-management of the business group and in the drafting of the political booklet.
Achieving the MDGs requires action by all: governments, institutions, public and private organizations and citizens. Many people around the world are already working for change, at work, in public life or in the private sphere.
The World Day of Action for the MDGs aims to connect and amplify the actions already carried out and invites those who have not yet done so to commit themselves to Agenda 2030.
The Global Day of Action for the MDGs will highlight the actions taken around the world at the United Nations General Assembly and send a message to Heads of State and Government: everywhere citizens and organizations are committed to achieving Agenda 2030, they need their support.
Every action counts, everyone is invited to join the movement and take action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
Mandated by the United Nations, the Global Compact France is the reference actor for the support and appropriation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDOs) by the French business world. It is therefore a de facto important actor in this Global Day of Action.
The members of the Global Compact France are in the best position to participate in the dissemination of information on Agenda 2030 and to mobilize as many people as possible in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
